Amazon.in is India's largest general marketplace, with millions of listings across electronics, books, home, fashion and groceries sold by both Amazon itself and thousands of independent sellers. Because so many products are sold by multiple sellers competing on the same listing, prices on popular items can shift multiple times a week — sometimes multiple times a day during a live sale.

When does Amazon actually discount?

Amazon's own Great Indian Festival (typically late September into October) is by far its biggest pricing event of the year, especially for electronics, smartphones and large appliances — many products hit their lowest price of the entire year during this single window. Outside of named sales, watch for "Lightning Deals" and "Deal of the Day" tags, which are usually genuine, time-boxed drops rather than a permanently inflated MRP discount. Since Amazon doesn't show price history on its own listings, comparing today's price against the real recorded low here is the only reliable way to tell a lightning deal from a marked-up one.
